Occupational Medicine and Worker’s Compensation Services
HealthWorks recognizes drug and alcohol abuse creates significant health and safety hazards. It may also result in lowered productivity and poor employee morale. We provide drug and alcohol testing for the following:
- Post Accident
- Reasonable Suspicion
We offer customized substance abuse testing for employers based on needs or contract requirements. Our staff includes an onsite medical review officer (MRO) and a medical review officer assistant (MROA) along with certified drug screen and breath alcohol collectors.
Medical surveillance physicals are provided on a periodic basis driven by exposure histories as mandated by federal regulations. Those evaluations include HAZWOPER, respiratory protection, hearing conservation, confined space entry, thermal stress, mobile equipment operation, asbestos, beryllium, lead and other heavy metals. In addition, we perform return-to-work and fitness-for-duty evaluations.
Department of Transportation (DOT) physicals are conducted following the latest federal and state guidelines. We keep abreast of ongoing changes pertaining to federal regulations including issues such as drug use and obstructive sleep apnea.
Pre-placement physicals are conducted utilizing employer provided job descriptions to assist with placement of new/potential employees. Our goal is to provide employers with timely and accurate results that enable them to make the best hiring decisions.
HealthWorks offers care for work-related injuries and illnesses. We are dedicated to the Return-to-Work philosophy supported by studies, which have proven injured workers have better outcomes when allowed to return to the workplace as soon as possible. Both timely intervention and communication are key elements in our process.
At HealthWorks, care is provided by a board-certified physician and a certified physician’s assistant who have more than 35 years of combined experience in occupational medicine.
